Research Background

I am a postdoctoral fellow at the Emotion & Motivation Lab at the University of Greifswald's Institute of Psychology. My research focuses on social emotions, particularly the interplay between intra- and inter-personal processes in emotions like shame, pride, and envy. I am especially interested in how these emotions shape social behavior and status dynamics. My doctoral research at the University of Haifa examined the relationship between shame and concealment, and between pride and exposure behaviors in experimental settings. Beyond my core work on social emotions, I have conducted research on affective habituation, exploring how conceptual and perceptual properties influence emotional responses over time. I led research examining whether the Implicit Association Test measures affective responses or affective knowledge, and a project that investigates whether individuals overestimate objective probabilities of negative events and how factors like emotion type and personal relevance influence these perceptions. During my postdoctoral work at Reichman University's Game Changers Lab, I studied social dynamics in online gaming communities, particularly focusing on inclusion and diversity.
