Research Overview
My research examines the antecedents, processes, and consequences of personality development across the lifespan. I am particularly interested in how and why personality, self-esteem, and psychological well-being change through person–environment transactions, from everyday experiences to major life transitions and life events. Across projects, I connect long-term developmental change with short-term processes in everyday experience, especially in the contexts of work, education, and social relationships. To study these questions, I use longitudinal and ambulatory assessment designs, including experience sampling methods, and am committed open science practices.
