Research Interests
- Personality traits, their change, and their interactions with the social and physical environment
- Big Five and Big Two personality traits
- Mental health and well-being, especially loneliness
About me
I am interested in understanding how our environments shape personality, well-being, and health. In my research, I use longitudinal data to examine how personality traits and well-being change over time, and I am particularly interested in whether these changes depend on the social and physical contexts in which people live. I take a broad view of environment, and I am interested in how the values, attitudes, and norms of the people around us, as well as regional characteristics such as median income, residential mobility, and migration rates, influence individual development.
