Chair of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy

Chair holder: Eva-Lotta Brakemeier

Welcome

to the homepage of the Chair of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at the Department of Psychology at the University of Greifswald.

The subject of “Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy” deals with how mental disorders and psychological aspects of physical illnesses arise and are maintained, as well as how psychotherapies can be further developed, improved, and evaluated. The Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy department in Greifswald consists of three sub-units:

  1. the Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy Research and Teaching Unit
  2. the Psychotherapeutic University and Research Outpatient Clinics
  3. the postgraduate training program to become a psychological psychotherapist

The Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy Research and Teaching Unit is located at the Psychological Institute at Franz-Mehring-Str. 47. The psychotherapeutic outpatient clinics and the training program together form our Center for Psychological Psychotherapy (ZPP), which is located at Wollweberstr. 1-3.

Our goal is to combine research, teaching, practice, and training in our work. All three units share a special focus on the following topics: Mechanism-based personalized psychotherapy research (especially for patients with depressive disorders) and third mission projects (see the association “Gemeinsam für psychische Gesundheit” [Together for Mental Health]). Detailed information on the respective research focuses can be found under the heading Research.

In our teaching, we place great emphasis on scientific foundations and practical relevance in order to train qualified young professionals for both scientific and practical fields of work.

I cordially invite you to learn more about our scientific work, our teaching, and our treatment offerings on these pages. We are happy to answer any questions or suggestions you may have.
