"Changing Persistent Depressive Disorder" (ChangePDD) - DFG-Project

Depressive disorders are chronic in one-third of all cases. This chronic depression is also known as persistent depressive disorder (PDD). Those affected have often already undergone several courses of therapy during their lifetime, which have not been sufficiently effective.

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of a newer therapy specifically developed for this condition (called “CBASP”) with an established psychotherapy (called “BA”) in patients with chronic depression who have not responded adequately to other therapeutic attempts.

By conducting this clinical study, we hope to be able to tailor the treatment of chronically depressed patients even better to their individual needs in the future and to expand our knowledge about the mode of action of the two therapy programs CBASP and BA.

By participating in the study, you will receive an intensive psychotherapeutic treatment program from a trained treatment team.

Your participation will make a valuable contribution to the individualization and long-term improvement of the treatment of chronic depression, in short, to the change in PDD. Please feel free to contact us if you are interested!

This study is funded by the German Research Foundation.
