Welcome!

The Chair of Personality Psychology and Psychological Assessment is dedicated to understanding what makes people different and how personality differences play out in daily life and change across the life course. We are especially interested in how everyday experiences, life transitions, and social, educational, occupational, regional, and cultural contexts contribute to stability and change in self-esteem, Big Five traits, and psychological well-being. To address these questions, we use longitudinal and intensive assessment designs and are committed to transparent, reproducible, and open research practices.

In teaching, we cover core topics in differential and personality psychology as well as psychological assessment, including clinical psychological assessment, across the B.Sc. program and both M.Sc. programs in psychology. We aim to spark students’ curiosity about individual differences in personality and psychological functioning and to provide them with the knowledge and skills needed for reliable and valid psychological assessment.
